Q1. Why did you choose design as a career ?

First of all welcome to a world that seeks outright creativity and design lie in between a Human and a Product. And being in a position where I come to know what exactly user needs are and how they interact with the product is a whole new concept and I end up acknowledging those pain and improve their life by building a product that satisfies the user’s needs to approx. That’s why I choose the design as my career.

Q2. Where do you visualise yourself five years from now?

Five years ago, I wanted to be where I am today. So five years from now, I want to set up realistic goals for myself and also for my organization. I will keep the same fire alive within and I hope I will achieve my goal.

Q3. Whom do you consider your mentor/Guru and why?

I am open to learning from everyone because I believe that everyone can teach something to me. I spend couple of hours every day learning from others, but whenever I’m working under any mentor or professional, I make sure I give my best to him and come up to his expectations.

Q4. What is the basic theme of your designing and why?

Industrial refers to an aesthetic trend in the interior that takes clues from old factories and industrial spaces that in recent years have been converted to lofts and other living spaces. Keeping in mind all the aspects and being the youth I’m sure I can read the mind of the user according to their needs and work with it.

Q5. Write your autobiography ?

My name is Garima Maiya. I’m a 3rd year Industrial Design student. My hometown is based nearby to the hill stations, i.e. Siliguri, West Bengal. I’m really fond of nature. I believe in exploring as much as you can, even if it requires to visit the same place again and again. I’m very passionate about what I do. I make sure I do the work before the deadline. I believe in coordinating work with cleanliness and proper planning. I’m very organized and I’m really very particular about time. Time is everything for me because once the deadline is set I make sure whatever hurdles come in between it doesn’t affect my work speed.Thank You
