Q1. Why did you choose design as a career ?

As I believe, the design is everywhere and it surrounds our physical and virtual spaces. By choosing a career option in the field of design I am aligning with one of the most prominent aspects of the society, and learning about the diversity of the creative industry and how extensive its reach is.

Q2. Where do you visualise yourself five years from now?

In five years, right after my graduation, I would like to get into the industry minimum for 3-5 years to gain appropriate knowledge and experience as I find one should have a practical approach and realistic goal to achieve the platform in the required field. I’m excited about working with a retail brand in future and seeing myself in learning a new skill set in their space. I see myself taking on as many bigger projects and working on my several interests, simultaneously.

Q3. Whom do you consider your mentor/Guru and why?

I see myself as a mentor, I am my strongest competition and I keep on driving myself to do better rather than comparing my skills to others.

Never underestimate your strength. Accept and love yourself, for everything you create. Push yourself without expecting other people to do it for you. The best way to gain your self-confidence is by doing what you are afraid of.

Q4. What is the basic theme of your designing and why?

The basic theme for my designing is ‘Minimalism’. Minimalism isn’t a new trend; it’s been around for a while.

Q5. Write your autobiography ?

My name is Yashika Khandelwal and I was born on 25th October, 1998 in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Currently, I am a final year undergraduate from Symbiosis Institute of Design, Pune in the field of Fashion Design (2017-21). Being a fashion design student, I have come across developing a great knowledge about the fabrics in its content and pattern making as well. I also have an inclination towards Crafts & Textiles and Trend Forecasting as well. I have a good hand in creating embroideries, photography, and graphics – logo design, content creation for digital marketing, layout design and digital art as well.
